Meet the mPOWER Physiotherapy team

Kat Barrington
Specialist Women’s Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and Owner

Hello, I’m Kat and I’m the founder of mPOWER Physiotherapy.

I’ve been a physiotherapist for 18 years, working initially in the NHS before joining the Royal Air Force (RAF) where I specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

I had an exciting military career treating fast jet pilots including the Red Arrows aerobatic display team. I was also the physio for the RAF’s rugby 7s team and deployed on active service to Afghanistan to help keep our troops fit on the frontline.

The biggest adventure I’ve embarked on to date however is becoming a mum to two wonderful daughters and this sparked my passion for women’s health.

Suffering with pelvic pain during pregnancy, I struggled to find the support I needed and realised there must be so many other women out there desperate for help and not knowing where to find it.

From that moment, I made it my mission to help women feel empowered about their pelvic health.

Life is a grand adventure

When I’m not delving deep into all things women’s health, I love to travel. Exploring with the family in our campervan ‘Claude’ is our favourite thing to do.

I love lifting heavy stuff and previously competed in powerlifting.

I also regularly practice Pilates and yoga, and getting out for a hike in the hills makes me feel amazing.
